Skin care compsn. comprises an aq. sol-gel contg. xanthan and carob bean meal (about 0.1-5.0 wt.%); an organic betaine or its derivs. (about 0.5-5.0 wt.%) as a tenside; an organic acid (sufficient to give pH 5-6), e.g. citric acid; and opt. other additives. USE - The prods. facilitate skin care and protection.
