The fabric to stabilise ground layers or for drainage filters, is composed of filaments with a max. tensile strength of 60-80 cM/tex, a max. tensile stretch of less than 10% and a thermo shrinkage of less than 10%, when measured in hot air at 200 deg.C. according to DIN 53 866. The fabric is woven, knitted, a non-woven or matting, a Raschel or a combination of types, with a non-sliding character. The filaments have a max. tensile strength of 70-80 cM/tex and pref. 72-76 cM/tex, a max. tensile stretch of 6-10%, and a thermo shrinkage of 2-9% measured at 200 deg.C.. The filaments are worked into a multifilament yarn to form the material, or they are used as monofilaments. The pref. filaments are of polyester, especially polyethylene terephthalate. A preparation or a brightener can be applied without conceivable ecological constituents. ADVANTAGE - The material has a low max. tensile stretch and a correspondingly high start module to prevent earth masses from sliding.
