A device for cleaning the air from a spraying chamber consists of a vertical hollow shaft (8) located centrally in a cylindrical housing (1) and connected to a pressurised water supply. This shaft is fitted with spray nozzles (13,14) and at least one horizontal disc (9) to which an annular brush (10) is attached. The fibres of this brush are in contact with the walls of the housing (1). The water supply may be treated with a coagulant, flocculant or surface-tension reducing agent. Deflector plates (15) project from the wall of the housing (1) above and/or below the brushes (10). The sprays from the nozzles (13,14) have at least a radial velocity component, and the roof of the housing (1) is fitted with a fan (18) and/or a vent pipe (19). USE/ADVANTAGE - For cleaning the air from spray painting or lacquering booths, which is laden with paint particles.
