Variable parameter source of e.g. for IC engine fuel measurement - contains potentiometer with voltage applied to centre tapping and auxiliary circuit connected to determine tapping position

The variable parameter source contains a potentiometer whose slider position determines the parameter. A supply voltage (Uv) is applied to the potentiometer's centre tapping (PM). An auxiliary cirucit connected to the end connections (PE1, PE2) of the potentiometer evaluates electrical values to determine the position of the centre tapping. Resistors (R) are connected from the ends of the potentiometer to the poles of the supply voltage. The voltages (U1,U4) across the resistors are used as evaluation values. USE/ADVANTAGE - Potentiometer's slider position can be determined irrespective of noise inducing resistance between slider and potentiometer's resistive path.
