The anchoring device is for lashing ropes securing loads to the platforms of lorries, trailers etc., having a rectangular trough (1) countersunk in the platform surface. This contains an attachment stirrup (2) pivoting on an axis parallel to the trough bottom, for engagement by a hook, eye etc. The stirrup is of the same rectangular shape as the trough itself, in which its pivot axis portion (4) is held parallel to the bottom (3) by a bearing flange (7) bent out at right angles from the adjacent trough sidewall (8) and then in a curve round the axis portion and downwards, the end (9) of its tongue being welded to the bottom.
