A gas/liq. mixt. for sepn. tangentially enters the outer chamber of a first cyclone separator (5) horizontally mounted in the prelaminary sepn. chamber (1) of a horizontal drum. This cyclone terminates at an intermediate partition (3) beyond which is a sepn. chamber (2) for fine residual liq. droplets, operating with a porous cylindrical filter (10). Both areas in the first cyclone are defined by cylinder walls (6,7) whereof the inner wall (6) forms a gas-only connection between the two chambers (1,2). ADVANTAGE - Improves liq. sepn. efficiency in the first separator chamber.
