Testing of containers, esp. of foodstuffs, for closure sealing - applying and removing strong magnetic field, evacuating closure vibrations to determine underpressure in container

The method of testing containers with underpressure closures for closure sealing involves generating a strong magnetic field in the region of the closure to move the closure out of its rest position, suddenly removing the field and detecting the resulting damped vibration of the closure. The electrical signals arising from the vibration detection are evaluated w.r.t. frequency, period and/or damping to determine the underpressure in the container. USE/ADVANTAGE - Esp. for use with containers of food. Container closure is tested very economically and without contact.
