The spark plug incorporates a cylindrical space acting as a precombustion chamber (3,4) with a rear chamber (3) having a greater dia. and a front chamber (4) with a lesser dia., the wall of which projects into the engine combustion chamber. The spark gap is provided by the inner wall of the front chamber (4), using a central electrode carrier (9) supporting a series of electrode pins (7). The pins are evenly spaced around the electrode carrier, with their free ends adjacent the front chamber inner wall, to define a corresponding number of spark gaps (8).
