The embryo recovery appts. consists of a two-duct plastics flushing catheter with closed radiused tip and side flushing apertures, followed to the rear by a balloon section which is inflated during flushing to seal off the horn of the uterus, plus a catheter mandrin. A rigid canula (1) has an inside bore (5) equal to the outside dia. of the flushing catheter and a cannula mandrel (3) which can be exchanged for the catheter and has a radiused thickened cap part (4) whose outside dia. equals that of the cannula bore projecting from the cannula tip when inserted. ADVANTAGE - Simple and safe catheter introduction even for young cattle.
