The HF oscillator for a microwave transmitter uses 2 identical oscillator circuits (11,12). Each has an active element, e.g. a transistor, operated in the non-linear range for obtaining a higher order harmonic oscillation. A coupling resonance circuit (23) is coupled between the inputs of the active elements (13,13') to provide frequency synchronisation and stabilisation, with a power combining device (20) between the outputs of the active elements (13,13'). The power combining device allows addition of the required frequency and suppression of half this frequency. Pref. a dielectric or cavity resonator is used as the coupling resonance circuit (23). ADVANTAGE - High output power.
