An arrangement for measuring the internal cylinder pressure of a multicylinder i.c. engine (1) has a number of detectors (6-9) for measuring the pressure in each cylinder (2-5). A signal selector (29) successively passes pressure signals from the detectors to a computer (26). The computer derives the pressure parameters from the received signals. A crankshaft detector (10) measures the crankshaft angle of the engine for the derivation of a basic clock signal. USE/ADVANTAGE - Enables real-time measurement and indication of the internal cylinder pressure of i.c. engine for engine control using reduced memory capacity and at lower cost.
