The interior of the sealed housing is coupled to the condensation pressure of the refrigeration circuit and encloses a cylinder block (4). An inner cylindrical chamber houses a rotary piston (5) attached to an eccentric section of a crank shaft (6). The cylindrical chamber is sealed at its axial ends two end walls (10a, 20a) and internally by the rotary piston (5). A sealing rail defines a suction chamber at a reduced pressure relative to theinterior of the interior of the housing. An axial gap is provided for lubrication oil between the boundary wall of the cylindrical chamber and the rotary piston with ratio of the outer dia to the inner dia of the piston (5) lying between 1.63 and 2.22.
