Stretch yarn texturising - using combined high and low stretch filaments fed to texturising jet together at the same speed with low stretch cladding at a higher speed
The pneumatic texturising process for a yarn composed of a mixture of several continuous filaments, fed simultaneously but at different speeds to the texturising jet, uses a high stretch elastane filament as one component in a straight tensed condition to be joined to a low stretch filament, to be fed to the texturising jet at an identical speed. A further low stretch multifilament is passed to the texturising jet at the same time, but at a higher feed speed. After the elastane filament and accompanying filament have been joined together they pass through an eddy jet before entering the texturising jet, where an air stream braids and knots them together ahead of texturising. ADVANTAGE - The pattern of the cladding thread or filament is consistent, retaining its crimped character during further processing, and which does not affect the high stretch performance of the core.
