The sloping roof is thermally insulated with panels of material such as polystyrene with tongue-and-groove joints formed between the edges of adjoining panels. The upper panel (1) has a groove (7) to receive the tongue (8) of the lower panel (2). The lower panel (2) is undercut on the upper face on one side of the tongue (8) to form a moisture drainage channel (22). This drainage channel (22) is drained by means of small grooves or holes which slope downwards from the channel (22) to the surface of the lower panel (2).
