The adjustment assembly for the shuttle boxes, to align the shuttle layers for the loom, has an AC servo motor (7) controlled by signals (il) from the automatic loom control (6). The control (6) generates a command signal (il) for the positioning of the shuttle box between the available layers by rotating the AC servo motor (7) assisted by a transmitter (7a) at the motor with a feedback signal (i2) to give an accurate adjustment to the command signal value. The rotation of the servo motor is converted into a linear movement of the shuttle box. The drive transmission to the shuttle box is a threaded spindle (9a) and a fixed nut (9b) which is rotated by the motor to move the spindle up an down. The threaded spindle has rotating -screws at the ends to be turned by a toothed belt (8a) or a shaft coupling. The threaded spindle/screws have a fixed cogwheel or shaft coupling section. The nut (9b) is connected to the under side of the shuttle box through an operating unit (9c) which follows the movement of the nut (9b). The transmission can also be a rod to one side with a guide, connected to a toothed belt from the motor, together with a component which controls the guide at the same time as it directs the toothed belt and shuttle box. The toothed belt passes round two or more cogwheels, where the first cog is coupled to the motor shaft. The support for the shuttle box, moved by the spindle, shows its position through a number of sensors (12,13,14,15) arranged to one side. ADVANTAGE - The mechanism gives an accurate positioning for shuttle boxes which operate for long periods and at high speeds and frequencies in the automatic loom.
