Remote controlled heating tubes with water-tight foam coating - by using inclined two part mould into which foam is fed followed by dip container for coating foam with silicate binder layer
Method of coating remote controlled heating tubes with layer of PUR-foam (SIC) consists of locating the corrosion protected media tube (1) inside a two part mould (5) which can be closed by locking device (2,3). The mould is situated on an inclined frame (5) with a fixed front support (14) and an adjustable rear support (15) holding the tube. The supports have circular openings (7) with flanges (8) and adjustment screws (9). The mould has air escape holes (6) and foam feeding channel (12). After producing the foam coating the tube plus coating is rotated inside a container (16) partly filled with silicate binder (17) and the foam is coated with the binder and finally hardened. USE/ADVANTAGE - Insulation coating tubes of 1-12 m length and 50-250 mm NB. Avoids the need for expensive PVC coating tubes. The foam coatings can be easily repaired after transportation or construction damage.
