The lattice is built up from crosswires (1) bent into a U-shape and arranged parallel to one another at intervals with longitudinal wires (2) welded to their outsides, and an edge wire (3) extending along the top of the outer edge of each limb of the U. In alternative embodiments the limbs are bent inwards towards the top, or upright limbs are surmounted by double edge wires with or without bending of the free ends (4). ADVANTAGE - Edge protection is achieved with easily guaranteed welds between edge wires and ends of cross-wires.
