Thermoplastic polycarbonate (PC) moulding materials (I) contain (A) 40-90 pts. wt. thermoplastic aromatic PC, (B) 10-80 pts. wt. thermoplastic polyalkylene terephthalate, (C) 0-25 pts. wt. graft copolymer, (D) 1-25 pts. wt. (w.r.t. 100 pts. wt. A-C) phosphorus cpd. and (E) 0.05-10 pts. wt. anti-dripping additive; (C) is a graft copolymer of (C1) 5-90 pts. wt. of a mixt. of (Cla) 50-95 wt.% styrene, alpha-methylstyrene, halo-styrene, ring-alkylated styrene and/or MMA and (Clb) 5-50 wt.% (meth)-acrylonitrile, MMA, maleic anhydride and/or N-substd. maleimide, on (C2) 10-95 pts. wt. rubber with Tg not above 10 deg.C; (E) comprises (E1) 0.05-5 pts. wt. TFE polymer with particle size 0.05-20 microns and density 1.2-1.9 g/cm3 and/or (E2) 0.1-10 pts. wt. silicone resin of formula RxSi(OR')yO(4-x-y)/2 (with R = opt. substd. hydrocarbyl, pref. Me and/or Ph; R' = alkyl or H; x = 0.75-1.75; y = 0.0001-0.5; comprising units of formula SiO4/2, RSiO3/2, R2SiO2/2 and/or R3SiO1/2); the novelty is that (D) has formula (II) R1 = direct bond, -CH2-, -CHMe- or -CMe2-; x = 0, 1 or 2 if y = 1; or x = 2 a y = 2; the aromatic rings can also be alkyl-substd. - (I) are produced by mixing (A), (B), (D), (E) and opt. (C), thermoplastic polysulphones, polyketones, pigments, flow additives, release agents, antistatics and/or other fire retardants, and melt-compounding or extruding in the usual appts. at 200-330 deg.C, or by mixing solns. of these components in suitable solvents and evaporating the mixt.
