A conveyor belt for cooling confectionery, covered in particular in chocolate passes through a cooling chamber over a cooling plate, unloads the contents and returns empty to the loading point. To ensure that the belt has a sufficiently low temp. when reloaded it returns through a cooling channel underneath the cooling plate. A cooling air flow is directed over the returning belt in the cooling channel. USE/ADVANTAGE - The cooled belt system is used particularly wtih chocolate covered centres to ensure sufficient cooling prior to each cycle, thus eliminating clinging of the chocolate to the belt.
