Drive arrangement for four-wheel drive vehicle - makes use of pair of viscous couplings and freewheel unit

The drive arrangement is for a four wheel drive vehicle. The front wheels are permanently driven and the rear wheels are driven via a viscous coupling (12) with a free wheel (18) arranged in series with the couping. A second viscous coupling (13) which only operates during backwards travel is arranged in a by-pass section around the free wheel. USE/ADVANTAGE - Drive connection between the two axles of a vehicle which allows a greater speed of rotation of the rear wheels over the front wheels under push conditions.
