The slewing drive is for a workpiece table, esp. in a numerically controlled grinder. It has a shaft in bearings in a housing and coupled to the table, and a driving spindle. A sprocket (10) on the shaft (4) is coupled to another one (13) on a parallel shaft by an endless link chain (12). The spindle (31) is coupled by a tapped component to the free portion of the chain between the sprockets so as to leave no free movement. USE/ADVANTAGE - Slewing drive for workpiece table has long life with no dead-strokes, and requires little lubrication or maintenance maintenance.
