TV monitor in car passenger compartment - has filter with variable transparency in front of monitor screen for image visibility adjustment

In-front of the monitor (1) screen a filter (2) is fitted with a variable transparency for adjusting a visible region of the image. The adjustment blocks the screen light in the direction of the driver's seat. A sensor detects the car movement and generates a corresp. signal (4). A control system (9) operates the filter in dependence on the signal such that no image is transmitted from the screen to the driver's seat side, when the car is moving. A dead zone at the filter is generated by application of a preset voltage, interrupting transmission of TV images to the driver's seat. The visible region is limited by a laminar filter (10) coacting with the screen filter to form a second dead zone at the driver's position. ADVANTAGE - Widened dead zone in driver's direction, even if driver should shift towards front seat passenger.
