All-round viewing mirror system for motor vehicle - combines views normally obtd. from wing mirrors into panoramic display lenses and fibre=optic bundles

Views to the rear and along both sides of the vehicle are presented by the objective lenses integrated with the bodywork and optically coupled by respective fibre bundles to a panoramic display in front of the driver. The display may take the form of a narrow horizontal strip either on or above the instrument panel. Safety may be enhanced by interrupted all-round vision without the driver's being required to turn his or her head continually. ADVANTAGE - Blind spots are eliminated without recourse to external mirrors which add to air resistance.
