The alpine ski has top and running surface coatings, between which are reinforcing inlays with fixing devices for the front and heel jaws securing the ski boot. The width (12) of the ski (1, 2) is greater than 10 cm., and equal to between 50 and 20 per cent of its length (13). The area of the running surface can be between 1500 and 5000 sq. cm. There can be a binding spindle inclined to the lengthwise axis (8) of the ski, and converging towards it in the direction of the forward end. ADVANTAGE - Allows travelling in soft deep snow.
