The rotor (2) has two connected radial and axial holes (13, 14) located in each operating chamber. The axial holes (14) are covered by a return plate (17) acting as an outlet valve, which opens into an annular chamber and outlet port (8). The chamber is incorporated into one of the front plates (5). The return plate is held against the rotor axial bores by an elastic pressure element (16) in the annular chamber. The front plate has the same return valve arrangement. An electromagnetic performance regulator controls the flow of oil to the operating chambers. This may be bypassed (32). ADVANTAGE - Performance regulation on inlet side without cavitation, wide regulation range with minimum cost.
