The invention relates to a device for fixing a book end to its shelf so as to support the book properly but also allow the book end to be positioned or removed by simple means in any position on the shelf. This device consists of a book end 1 having a quadrant 2 as the angle joining its base to its rear side, and comprising a clip 3 for clipping the book end to a tube 4 fastened to the shelf 5. In this way the book end 1 rests on the shelf 5 and is held in position on the tube 4. In order to remove the book end 1, a simple action disconnects the tube 4 and so detaches the book end 1 from the shelf 5. The device according to the invention is particularly intended for shelves for library furniture. IMAGE
