P The invention relates to a cut-off wheel equipped with a heat engine 3 which has a drive shaft 23 at the ends 26, 27 of which are respectively mounted a drive wheel 14 for the tool 4 and a fan wheel 35 for discharge cooling air to the heat engine 3. On the fan side 35 there is commonly a cable-controlled starter for the heat engine 3 so that the dust produced during cutting and sucked in by the fan is deposited on the starter, thus leading to premature wear thereof. To remedy this, the starter 30 is mounted, according to the invention, on the outlet side of the drive shaft 23 so as to be outside the region of the cooling air stream. /P
