The present invention relates to a device for skimming over water in the seated or elongated position in order to facilitate the starting of barefoot water skiing. It consists: - of a disc 1 whose edge intended to come into contact with the water is bevelled; - of a fin 2 which is bonded, screwed or fitted in and which will allow the disc to keep a heading; - of a non-slip formation 3 which is bonded, screwed or fitted in, allowing the skier to be held firm and simultaneously to stretch the legs.
