Protective cover for insulating a toilet seat for hygienic and prophylactic purposes, of the type comprising at least one sheet (1) of a flexible material cut out to form a generally oval ring (4) which can then be placed over the seat (5) of the toilet bowl, the cover being characterised in that when the sheet is being cut to form the ring, a plurality of tabs (9, 10) are also cut out, integrally therewith, and these fold underneath the seat (5) to prevent said sheet from shifting relative to the bowl.
