The process comprises forming the sulfides of said metals by means of hydrogen sulfide gas under pressure and separating by means of filtering. The reaction is carried out by means of gas-liquid contact apparatus of the T-reactor type and filling towers, with reduced residence times of less than 10 minutes. The reaction is practically stoichiometric, the acidity of the water can be less than 1% SO4 H2 by weight, thus obtaining a residue of SH2 in waters of less than 500 ppm, which can be eliminated by blowing air after filtration of arsenic sulphide and precipitated metals. BR/ The plant basically comprises T mixing reactors, two-stage pressure reaction towers, a filter press, a degassing tower and an alkaline absorption tower.
