The invention relates to a crutch which is designed to have a reduced size when it is not being used for walking. The crutch comprises a vertical body made up of three tubular elements (4, 5 and 6) which are engaged in a telescopic manner. The first element (4) comprises an open upper end, between a handle (1) and an inclined support (2) for the forearm of the user. A second tubular element (5) can slide in this element (4) between a deployed position, in which it is locked by a blocking member (21), and a retracted position, in which its head (16) emerges from the axial orifice of the first element (4).
