COMBINATION DRUG AND METHOD FOR RELIEVING GASTROENTERIC PAIN ARISING FROM NONSTEROIDAL ANTI INFLAMMATORY DRUG

PURPOSE: To obtain a new pharmaceutical composition used for prophylaxis or treating gastrointestinal distress symptom induced by nonsteroidal antiinflammatory medicine by formulating a non-pyrine-based and nonsteroidal antiinflammatory medicine with an antidiarrheal, an antiflatulent, an antispasmodic or an anticholinergic. CONSTITUTION: This pharmaceutical composition is obtained by combining an analgesic effective amount of a non-pyrine-based and nonsteroidal antiinflammatory medicine such as ibuprofen or naproxen with one or more kinds of medicines selected from an antidiarrheal such as loperamide, an antiflatulent such as simethicone, an antispasmodic such as phenobarbital and an anticholinergic such as atropine. The composition is administered to persons suffering from pain to alleviate gastrointestinal distress symptom, e.g. dyspepsia, diarrhoea, constipation, stomachache, malignant peptic ulcer, etc., induced by administering nonsteroidal antiinflammatory medicines. Thereby, gastrointestinal adverse effect thereby is relieved while using nonsteroidal antiinflammatory medicine and symptom of arthritis, etc., can be alleviated.
