METHOD FOR IMPROVING QUALITY OF FOIL-INSERTED WOVEN FABRIC

PURPOSE:To prevent the breakage, flotation or turn-over of inserted foil in a woven fabric containing inserted flat foil by applying a hot-melt resin layer to the reverse face of a substrate sheet made of Japanese paper or cloth, inserting the foil into a woven fabric and hot-pressing the foil-inserted fabric at a temperature higher than the melting point of the resin. CONSTITUTION:A flat foil or foil-like sheet is produced by applying a hot-melt resin layer to the reverse face of a substrate sheet made of Japanese paper or cloth. The flat foil or the foil-like sheet is inserted into a woven fabric to obtain a foil-inserted fabric having steric pattern on the inserted foil, a fabric having large amount of foil exposed to the surface or a plain gauze or HAN- ETSU fabric. The foil-inserted fabric is hot-pressed at a temperature higher than the melting point of the hot-melt resin to weld the crossing part of the foil and the warp.
