NEW MATERIAL:2,2-Dimethyl-1,3-propane bisoxamic acid and 2,2-dimethyl-1,3- propane bisthiooxamic acid. USE:The compound of formula I composed of acid type molecules is obtained in the state perfectly free from ammonia, and therefore, permits the extremely smooth proceeding of a complexation reaction. The compound of formula II also permits the extremely smooth proceeding of a complexation reaction. PREPARATION:2,2-Dimethyl-1,3-propane bisoxamide of formula III is hydrolyzed in an aqueous solution containing 2.1-2.5 times moles of an alkali metal hydroxide such as NaOH at room temperature to 100 deg.C, bubbled with an inert gas such as N2 gas for the removal of ammonia gas and subsequently acidified with hydrochloric acid to deposit the crystals of the compound of formula I.
