MANUFACTURE OF TI-B COMPOSITE THERMAL SPRAYING MATERIAL AND TI-B COMPOSITE THERMAL SPRAYING MATERIAL

PURPOSE:To manufacture a Ti-B composite thermal spraying material in which Ti and B are uniformly dispersed by charging the powder of Ti and B to the inside of a cylindrical casing provided with compressing pieces and scratching pieces along the inner circumferential face and rotating the casing. CONSTITUTION:The inside of a cylindrical casing 4 having a treating chamber 3 at the inside is provided with plural sets of jigs fitted with compressing pieces 9a and scratching pieces 9b at the tip of a supporting bar 8b; the inside of the treating chamber 3 is charged with Ti powder 31, e.g. having 38 to 44mum grain size and B powder 32 having 0.8mum grain size; and the casing is rotated at high speed in the direction of the arrow R. The Ti powder 31 and the B powder 32 are pressed against the inner circumferential face 4a of the casing 4 by its centrifugal force to form a layer constituted of both powder; and, by the scratching pieces 9b and the compressing pieces 9a relatively rotating in the casing 4, the powder layer is scratched, stirred and compressed between the face 91 of action of the compressing pieces 9a and the inner circumferential face 4a of the casing to pelletize the B powder 32 on the surface of the Ti powder 31 by thermal spraying, by which the Ti-B composite thermal spraying material in a state where Ti and B are homogeneously dispersed can be obtd.
