PURPOSE:To provide the title composition having excellent thermal stability, oxidation stability and abrasion resistance even under high-temperature conditions with severity more and more increasing in recent years. CONSTITUTION:The title composition is prepared by mixing a base oil having a viscosity of 2-50cSt at 100 deg.C with essential constituents comprising 1-15wt.% sulfurized mixture of alkaline earth metal salts of hydroxyalkylbenzoic acids and/or alkylphenols, 5-50wt.% dialkyl carbonate shown by the general formula R1-O-C-(=O)-O-R2 (wherein R1 and R2 are each 5-20C alkyl), and 0.1-15wt.% hydrated alkali metal borate.
