METHOD FOR CONTROLLING COOLING CAPACITY IN FURNACE HEARTH OF BLAST FURNACE

PURPOSE:To restrain lowering of production in a blast furnace and growth of solidified part in furnace hearth at the time of stopping blasting by arranging a drain board to the whole zone in circular direction of side wall, at height position near the max. permissible erosion line in the furnace hearth, and adjusting flow-rate of coolant. CONSTITUTION:The furnace hearth thickness in the blast furnace is made to thin and graphite brick is used to brick at lower part of the furnace hearth and C-SiC brick is used to furnace wall part. The drain board 12 is arranged as surrounding the whole circle of side wall at the height position near the max. permissible erosion line L in the furnace hearth, and shower pipings 13, 14 for cooling are set as inserting the drain board 12. Flow rate adjusting valves are set in supply pipings for supplying cooling water into cooling pipe 5 and the shower pipings 13, 14 at bottom plate part, and opening degree of the flow rate adjusting valves are adjusted, according to variation of the production in the blast furnace, to control the cooling water flow rate to be optimal. By this method, while preventing wear of the furnace hearth brick, the growth of solidified part in the furnace hearth is restrained.
