PURPOSE:To obtain the optimum condition of wave form equalization in response to the position on a disk at all times and to make the circuit constitution small through the entire digital processing by sampling a reproduction signal at a prescribed interval, converting the sampled signal into a digital signal comprising a sample data string and using a waveform equalization equation for specific sample data. CONSTITUTION:A reproduction signal is sampled at a prescribed interval and converted into a digital signal comprising a sample data string, and in the case of making waveform equalization by using a sample data N1, a one- preceding sample data No, a one-succeeding sample data N2 and an equalization coefficient (k), the waveform equalizing equation using the sample data is employed. Thus, it is possible to set the waveform equalizing coefficient optionally and the entire digital processing is realized, then the circuit configuration is made small.
