PURPOSE: To realize the evaluation of the performance for separating a stereoisomer from a position isomer while satisfying the test requirements of resolution by employing a composition containing a plurality of compounds among specified oxidation type triterpenoid compounds. CONSTITUTION: I order to evaluate the performance of a high performance liquid chromatography(HPLC) column, a composition containing a compound represented by a formula is employed. The composition contains a plurality of compounds among eight kinds of oxidation type triterpenoid natural compounds obtained from the incubated hypha of bracket fungus. The composition contains a stereoisomer and a position isomer each of which having a plurality of function groups and gradually varying polarity. Consequently, this composition satisfies the resolution rest requirements for a standard reverse phase HPLC column and can evaluate the performance for separating a stereoisomer from a position isomer in a reverse phase HPLC column.
