INTERFACE FOR DYNAMICALLY MODELING PERFORMANCE OF COMPUTER SYSTEM

PURPOSE: To provide, a modeling interface technique for virtually changing the constitution of a computer system, and deciding and judging the effect. CONSTITUTION: The constituting data of a modeling computer system are received (405), and the initial value of the selected matrix of the system is received (410). The model of the computer system constitution is prepared from the received information (415), and the constituting graphic of the model and the selected matrix initial value are displayed (420). An input for changing the constitution of the system is received (425), and the model of the system is changed while being reflected by the input (430). Then, in the case of the change affecting the distribution of a working load, re-distribution among devices is operated (440). The re-distribution identifies the set of the in-system devices (443), and the work load is re-distributed among the constituting members of the set according to a balancing mode (447). Next, the new value of the selected matrix for the changed model is decided (450), and a computer system model graphic using the new matrix value is displayed (460).
