PURPOSE:To exhaust noncondensable gas with efficiency and enhance heat transfer properties by lowering the static pressure of said noncondensable gas and changing the static pressure of vapor flow at an exhaust port in structure. CONSTITUTION:The steam which has flowed in from an in-flow port 5 flows through a steam passage 3 from a tube bundle 2 and it is condensed on the surface of a tube nest 1 of a heat transfer tube. As the width of the tube nest 1 is adapted to be fixed with the steam passage 3, the speed of steam is further increased as the steam passage is further reduced in width. As a result, the static pressure will be reduced as the steam passage 3 comes to the lower part which becomes narrower. On the other hand, the static pressure of the tube bundle 2 is balanced with the steam passage 3 which adjoins the bundle substantially. Therefore, the static pressure in the tube nest 2 is lowered as it comes to the lower part, thereby inducing the pressure gradient in a direction which crosses the steam passage 3. This pressure gradient produces a flow of the pressure which crosses the steam passage 3 and flows down from the upper part to the lower part, uncondensable gas is collected to the lower part, riding on this flow, which makes it possible to exhaust the uncondensable gas with efficiency from the lower part where higher concentration prevails.
