PURPOSE:To conserve energy and to stabilize capacity, by performing control such that the characteristic of water to be treated is automatically monitored and treatment is finished when a predetermined characteristic is obtained. CONSTITUTION:The detection values of the DO sensor 10, pH sensor 11 and redox potential ORP sensor 12 arranged to the bottom part in a tank 1 are inputted to the monitor 18 of a control computer 13. Further, an iron contact member 9 such as an iron plate is arranged in the tank 1 and waste water is contacted with iron during treatment. The output signals A, B, C of a monitor means 16 are respectively inputted to a blower 4, a treated water valve 8 and a waste water valve 3. Treatment is finished when the concn. of dissolved oxygen (DO) at the terminal of aeration treatment is within a predetermined range, the concn. of DO at the initial stage of sedimentqation treatment becomes substantially zero, pH at the terminal of sedimentation treatment becomes a definite value, for example, 7.9 or more and redox potential (ORP) becomes positive by the repetition of aeration and sedimentation treatment.
