PURPOSE:To reduce the number of transferred data in retrial processing, and to improve the generation probability of data overrun by enabling a peripheral control device to control an input/output control device so as to suppress data transfer. CONSTITUTION:At the time of retrying, a magnetic disk control device 20 outputs data transfer suppressing instruction data TSI to show the number of data which are stored previously in a main storage as effective data and need not be stored again in the main storage, and re-starts processing from, for instance, a record R1-D. At the input/output control device 30, only a data storage address and a data transfer count are updated by the portion of the number of the data to be suppressed in its data transfer instructed from the magnetic disk control device 20 by the data transfer suppressing instruction data TSI. Thus, objective data length to be stored to the main storage is shortened, at the time of retrying, and the generation probability of the data overrun is made small.
