PURPOSE: Toobtain a neural network shell for an application business program. CONSTITUTION: The neural network shell is equipped with an interface defined for the application business program. Any application business program becomes a neural network application business program 41 by interfacing with the neural network shell. The neural network shell includes one set of utility programs which transfer data to and from neural network data structure. This set of utility programs enables the application business program to define a new neural network model, generate new neural network data structure, train a new neural network, and execute the neural network. After the training, this neural network data structure can be transferred to an application business program which runs on a different computer system and is written in a different computing language.
