PURPOSE:To form a good-design image having an irregular part and a smooth transferred or colored image part on the surface of a sheet, an article, or the like. CONSTITUTION:An original 4 is overlapped on an image forming material 10 obtained by laminating an uncured photo-setting resin layer and a light- transmitting film on a substrate of a recessed and projected form. This is exposed to light, whereby the exposed part of the photo-setting resin layer is cured. Thereafter, the substrate is released. After the release of the substrate, the unexposed part of the photo-setting resin layer is smoothed. Therefore, a color is transferred or produced on the smoothed unexposed part, and the unexposed part is exposed to light all over to be cured. In this manner, the transferred or colored image formed on the smooth part has a sharpness, and a good design is exhibited as a whole. In addition, such an image can be formed by dry processing.
