PURPOSE:To secure the stability of operations by letting high pressure gas flow out of the feed port of an auxiliary thrust gas bearing into the back face side of a brake blower impeller, and thereby generating thrust force in the opposite direction against an increase of thrust load. CONSTITUTION:A static pressure feeding type auxiliary thrust gas bearing 10c is interposed between each thrust gas bearing 10a and 10b and a brake blower impeller 16. A feed port 83 for high pressure gas is provided for the back face side of the brake blower impeller 16 in the auxiliary thrust gas bearing 10c. When thrust loading is increased during operations, high pressure gas is introduced from the feed port 83 with feed valve of the auxiliary thrust gas bearing 10c opened, upward thrust force is imparted to a brake blower 16, and in its turn to a rotating shaft 14. By this constitution, stable operation can thereby be secured.
