PURPOSE:To reduce amplitude distortion by preventing the over inputs and over loads of a loudspeaker, super woofer and audio amplifier for driving this loudspeaker by controlling the amount of adding a signal component generated by a 1/2 frequency division processing circuit. CONSTITUTION:A signal 104 generated by 1/2 frequency division is not directly inputted to an adder 6 but inputted through a voltage controlled amplifier 17. The amplification factor of the voltage controlled amplifier 17 is controlled according to a control signal 109 generated by a comparator 16, and the input level of a signal 110 to be inputted to the adder 6 is adjusted. Thus, by limiting or controlling the inputs of a super woofer 1 and an audio amplifier 8 to drive the loudspeaker, the amplitude distortion of sounds radiated from the super woofer 1 can be reduced.
