PURPOSE:To save the labor for installation of an inspecting device and to improve inspecting efficiency by calculating the density of a cement solidified body and estimating the uniaxial compressive strength of the cement solidified body from the result of the calculation. CONSTITUTION:A measuring instrument is provided with a lifting base 3 which is movable in a vertical direction, a gamma ray source 5 mounted by interposing a slit plate 4 in a fixing member and a gamma ray detector 6. The lifting base 3 is vertically moved to pass a drum can 2 between a gamma ray source 5 and the detector 6 and gamma rays are passed in the slit 4a from a gamma ray source 5. The drum can 2 is irradiated with these gamma rays and a change in the transmittance of the gamma rays between the space part 7 in the can 2 and the cement solidified body 8 is detected by the detector 6, by which the boundary height L of the solidified body is detected. Further, the volume is calculated from the boundary height L and the known inside diameter of the drum can 2. The uniaxial compressive strength of the solidified body is estimated from the correspondence chart of the density of the cement solidified body and the uniaxial compressive strength.
