PURPOSE:To facilitate excavating work by discharging the underground water, which is sprung out from the ground and retained on the beam below a wall during or after burying the wall of a basement under the ground, outside through the hollow space of a lower beam. CONSTITUTION:A lower beam 21 is formed of a connection beam 22 made of an H-steel, a V shaped cutting edge beam 24 welded to the lower end of the flange 23 that forms the lower face of the connection beam 22. In addition, a triangular hollow space 26 is formed below this connection beam 22, and a lead-through hole 30 is provided in a horizontal web 27. In the next step, the underground water, which is sprung out from ground outside the wall and retained on the upper face of the connection beam 22, is made to drop into the hollow space 26 through this lead-through hole 30.
