DRAWING READER AND DRAWING READING METHOD

PURPOSE:To make a drawing reader possible to read characters or drawing without being affected adversely by defective print part caused by scratch, film, or the like not by converting the whole of an image into binary code to read, but by reading the image intermittently at a constant interval. CONSTITUTION:A control means 102 repeats reading an image horizontally and intermittently at a constant interval over a constant length thereof a predetermined number of times, and after the completion of the horizontal reading the control means 102 moves control to the intersection of the horizontal scanning line distant by a constant number of horizontal scanning lines from the preciously read horizontal scanning line and the vertical read start reference line on the image and makes the reader repeat the unit read operation for horizontal read operation a constant number of times. Further, an image signal processing judgement means 103 converts into matrix data image data read by a camera means 101, compares the converted matrix data with matrix data prepared and stored in advance for each particular drawing to discriminate the drawing, and then outputs the result. Accordingly, image data is read from a read start position horizontally and at a constant interval over a constant length of the image, while in the vertical direction on the image the image is read intermittently for every (n+1) horizontal scanning lines greater by one scanning line than a constant number of lines n. Hence, adverse influence of defective print part due to scratch, film, or the like on reading the image can be reduced.
